The Order of the Sword, and the Fracture Beneath It: The Kingdom of Gevitz

The eastern continent groaned under chaos and war. As magic, an uncontrollable power, threw the world into disorder, there was one man who longed for "the most rational power." Through human will and steel rather than miracles, and through a Codex called "The Prince," he built a great kingdom.

A nation that believes only discipline can save the world. Beneath banners of brilliant white and gold, this is the story of the Kingdom of Gevitz, where justice and ambition coexist in a precarious balance.

Order Forged in Steel

Long ago, the "Land of Abundance" lay under the rule of the mage house "Nostella" and the dragon they served, the "White Witch." Magic was a power granted only to a few, and ordinary people had to entrust their lives to the whims of those few.

It was the great merchant "Faloan Gevitz" who put an end to this unjust age. Through the wealth he had amassed, he struck deals with Calipolis, projecting the power of "The Prince" into reality with a vast host of Automata soldiers and the Codex, the knowledge from beyond dimensions. The great Faloan I rallied the people, weary of magic's tyranny, and raised the "White War." At last he struck down the dragon and drove out the mages.

"By the order of the sword, I shall guard the world. This alone is the reason for Gevitz to exist."
— King Faloan Gevitz

This was the beginning of the Kingdom of Gevitz. The kingdom defined magic as feeble and wicked, and grew into a nation of chivalry that believed only the disciplined body and steel were true power.

Prosperity, and a Corrupted Creed

For centuries Gevitz enjoyed a golden age. The "Gevitz gold coin," used as the world's common currency, was proof of their wealth, and the knightly order that held off barbarians and beasts was revered as the guardian of the world.

But by the era of the fourth king, Faloan IV, the kingdom's creed began to waver. Blinded by the desire for territorial expansion, the king craved still greater power, and embraced the very magic he had so despised, dressing it up as a technology named "Harmony Dynamics."

The knights and some nobles who prized honor rebelled. The king's excuses were nothing but deceit, and as cutting-edge devices glowing with neon light were grafted onto armor of steel, their pride slowly began to crack.

The Sorrowful Knight

The contradiction ultimately bred tragedy. Haverion, Grand General of Gevitz and revered as a hero, could not stand by and watch his lord turn into a tyrant. His heart truly ached at the sight of his homeland steeped in senseless slaughter and corrupt wars of conquest.

In the year 500 of the New Age, Grand General Haverion at last assassinated his own lord, Gevitz IV, before the eyes of the entire world. The most loyal sword, the shield that was the kingdom's pride, had pierced the king's heart. Not only the kingdom but the whole world was thrown into shock.

The Girl Bearing the Weight of the Crown

Upon the cold throne the vanished king left behind now sat Donna Gevitz, only fifteen years old. From childhood she had been a frail girl plagued by illness, a shy child who found it hard to mingle with others. She had no wish to be queen, but after the regicide the nobles, frantic to seize power in the new order, sought to install her as a puppet ruler and take that power for themselves.
